Steve Goodman: Havana Syndrome and the Weaponization of Unsound

This lecture brings together the themes from the seminars via the prism of what is referred to as ‘Havana Syndrome’, or the alleged sonic attacks on the US Embassy in Havana, Cuba dating from 2016 onwards.
How did the uncertainty regarding these ‘health incidents’ accelerate speculation on the methods and causes of the so-called ‘attacks’ about inaudible vibration or unsound, and what does this teach us about the affective and epistemological dimensions of the sonic ecology of war.
